Vs. 1, “In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah…” Remember “In that Day” is speaking when Jesus will reign on Earth! It will be a time where Israel is finally restored to the hope that all the followers of Jesus had the first time Jesus came to Earth. Just read in detail…it will be a strong city, a peaceful city, a city where Jesus will live with His people. The evil will have their consequences during the tribulation.
Regarding application…Protection. Vs. 20, “Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by.” This reminds me of Passover for God’s people in Egypt. Likewise, God will raise the dead and protect his people during Tribulation. Perhaps not protect from the consequences of sin on the earth (even Jesus could not escape that)…But God will protect us from His wrath (which is much worse, indeed). One day if I have the privilidge to be a Father…I hope to do my very best to protect my children. To do everything I can to bring no harm to their lives. While I know that it will be a tough world they will live in, I also know that I desire to protect the best I can. But while we may desire to protect…we inevitably fail. But God NEVER fails! Remember, God’s love protects! “It (love) always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (I Cor. 13:7)
