Vs. 1, “See, the LORD is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it…” Isaiah is speaking of a time that has not yet happened…even in our own day. This time is none other than the Great Tribulation. No one will be spared…no matter what your status, position, power or wealth. Why? Because they have directly turned in defiance to the Lord God! The only ones who are spared are God’s remnant in the Tribulation (vs. 13-15).
Regarding application…God’s Wrath. Vs. 6,”Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt.“ The sinners scoff at God today, but one day will tremble in fear.
