QT – Psalm 132

Vs. 5, “till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”  This is considered a royal psalm and is now the thirteenth ascent Psalm.  It is believed to have been written when the Israelites were returning from the exile from Babylon.  It was fitting to remember King David as they desired to rebuild the temple and start over again.  This is also considered a Messianic psalm as they not only remembered King David…but also looked to a future King (vs. 11) which would be Jesus!

Regarding application…God Chooses You.  Vs. 13, “For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling.”  What a wonderful reminder and we addressed this topic a bit from Friday Night “Y” series.  Question: Why Me?  Why would God choose me?  With a combination of predestination and free will…we understand a little bit more about how God chose us!  God picked us to be on His team (Yea!!!!)  Rest in the Lord this coming week knowing that God has chosen you because He loves you!  Just as they were waiting for their King to come…we are also waiting for our King to return as well!
