QT – Psalm 129

Vs. 4, “But the LORD is righteous; he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked.”  The tenth Psalm in the ascent series as we see a Psalm of trust.  The psalmist gives us a vivid picture of the what the enemy attempts to do in our lives.  God will bring shame and vengeance upon those who have hurt His children (vs. 5-8).  Even though the pain of suffering can be like a plow on our backs (Yikes)…we know God is there with us and for us.

Regarding application…Struggling Youth.  Vs. 2, “they have greatly oppressed me from my youth, but they have not gained the victory over me.”  A good reminder for those of us who are in our youth (sadly, this doesn’t apply to me anymore).  Struggles, rebellion, stress are words that are synonymous with being a youth.  But notice young men and women…that the oppression does not gain victory.  We have victory in Jesus!  While I lost some battles in life…I know that I will win the war!  Don’t get down when the plows of the enemy are scraping your back…fight, pray, trust…strike back with Faith!  I’m glad tomorrow is Friday so I can be with many of you again :)  Let’s be ready to encourage each other everyday!
