QT – Psalm 28

Vs. 7, “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.” David was praying to God for his enemies were against him once again. We know that the Apostle Paul exhorts us to come to the Throne of Grace with boldness and confidence….and this is exactly what David is doing here. David turns to the Lord with two requests: 1. That God would speak to him. 2. That God would save him. It’s such a strong request that David feels he would die if God did not answer him.

Regarding application…God Hears Us.  Vs. 6, “Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy.”  We see how David so earnestly sought an answer for the Lord.  But just as importantly, look how Diavd responds to God when God does indeed answer.  God heard David…and that same God hears us!  Though we may not be able to rejoice for the situation or the enviornment around us…we still can rejoice in God! Prayer may not immediately change the situation around you, but prayer will most definitely change your spiritual situation inside of you. God does not ignore our prayers. Don’t forget…even when God says “No” he still answered our prayer. For David, it was God’s will to rescue him from his enemies. That doesn’t mean God will keep us from trials, but it does mean He is with us every step of the way. God does not forsake his children. When you pray to God, know with confidence that He hears you!
