Vs. 7, “Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.” David is saddened about reflecting on his life and asks that God would forgive him. There are times in our lives where we realize that we have gone the wrong way. Often we don’t look into the mirror of our own hearts. It is a credit to David that he admits his brokeness and desires to walk righteously.
Regarding application…Depending on God. Vs. 4, “Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths.” David was not only a man after God’s own heart…but he was also a man that depended on God! In today’s society, we are not respected if we are dependent people….we must be independent & strong! However, David shows us a different way to be. We can depend on ourselves and go our way…or we can depend on God and let him show us his path. In order for God to teach us…we must be willing pupils. That is why we must always keep the Word of God close to our heart! God’s word teaches us about where we must go in this life. You all have plans for your future…but are you letting God’s word show you your path?
