Vs. 16, “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” We see in this chapter that Jesus is putting an emphasis on action. We must heed God’s word and be people of action. From the parable of the sower, the lamp on the stand, to Jesus calming the storm…we see Jesus speaking a clear message. Some took good action while others rejected Jesus (vs. 26-39). It’s so easy to live a medicore life for God…but to live a true vibrant life for God, it’s the hardest thing you will ever do but also the most blessed.
Regarding application…Producing Fruit. Vs. 8, “Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.” When he said this, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” A wonderful parable about taking God’s word and letting it change our lives! My youth group is having a missions focused revival this coming weekend. I’m so excited to share about how we can take God’s message and have it produce a harvest! We cannot keep this message of hope to ourselves. I thank God for the many seeds planted and now growing in so many of the students lives. It’s time for this generation to start planting more seeds into the hearts of the lost so we may reap a harvest beyond belief! Pray each day that we would be witnesses to the end of the Earth!
